Why Blog?

Because it terrifies me. Because I have amazing ideas that I would love to share. Because I love taking pictures. Because I want to keep these memories forever. Because I want to fight through the uncomfortable feeling of worrying about what other people think. Because I love being a nurse but I have other passions. Because I love reading about how other people live. Because I'm an awful writer (at least I'm warning you now) who can't spell and hates grammar. Because I was told to never start a sentence with because (but it's my blog and I can do what I want).

Twenty-seven!... It was a time of sudden revelations. "Heyyyy, know what? This thought came to me."  -Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde

As I stare down the barrel of twenty-eight, this quote about my twenty-seventh year couldn't be more true. At the age of twenty-seven my PIC (partner in crime if you're not in the know) and I decided to move 3000 miles away from everything we knew, and it never felt so right. At the age of twenty-seven I decided to bite the bullet and finally publish the blog I've been thinking about every day since I was twenty. It took me seven years to build up the courage to create something of my own. I like to think it came at the right time, and that any earlier would have been too soon. I tend to be very private about my hopes and dreams, so this blog will probably come as a surprise to my friends and family. While blogging might be (or on it's way to) antiquated, I can't imagine anything else I'd rather make to share my life.
